Cow Close Pods are situated in spectacular Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, off a small, quiet country lane with beautiful views of Penn Hill and the countryside beyond. Although surrounded by countryside and farmland, we are only one mile from the thriving and popular market town of Leyburn. Leyburn can be accessed by a short walk (1 mile) across a field footpath next to the Pods.
There are plenty of things to do in the local area, castles at Richmond, Middleham and Castle Bolton, numerous Yorkshire Dales towns and villages (Leyburn, RIchmond, Hawes, Bedale, Reeth, Askrigg to name a few), opportunities to see the racehourses on Middleham Gallops in the early morning, then maybe see them racing at either RIpon, Catterick, York or Thirsk racecourses.
There are some fantastic walks in the vicinity, especially the infamous Leyburn Shawl.
Forbidden Corner is a must do for families as well as our local ice cream parlours at Brymor and Yorkshire Dales Ice Cream (Nr Bainbridge).
Wensleydale Railway is worth a visit and Gin Trains and Prosecco trains run during the summer months.
Wensleydale Creamery - home of Wensleydale Cheese - in Hawes is well worth a trip "up dale".
