Sue, Andy and their son Morgan offer you a warm welcome to Cranborne House. We hope that this will feel like "home from home" with everything you need to make your stay a memorable one. With so much on our doorstep to explore and only a few miles from Sandbanks and the gateway to the Jurassic Coast, you are sure to find us out on our bikes exploring Swanage, Hengistbury Head, Wareham and beyond. We love to meet new people and are happy to chat and offer advice or recommendations for restaurants or places to explore, just don't get Andy talking too much otherwise you'll never get past our front door! :)

Cranborne House was built circa 1880 for a local sea lord and hints of this can be seen in the guest dining room where the original etched "boat" glass windows can be viewed. Since taking over the property in October 2016, Sue and Andy have put their mark on the place - all rooms have been fitted with beautiful shutters making the rooms much brighter, whilst giving guest privacy; the bathrooms are bright and clean; all rooms have been recarpeted as recently as March 2020 and the guest kitchen offers all the facilities a guest needs to make their stay comfortable. During the "lockdown", Sue and Andy have taken on the huge project to restore the original cast iron facade at the front of the property so guests now can sit under the porch and enjoy a morning coffee or a late night glass of wine! The Guest House was built as an "add on" approximately 15 years ago, but in keeping with the style of the original Victorian building. As the hosts live "next door", guests are free to come and go as they please with the added comfort of knowing that Sue and Andy are next door to ensure their stay is perfect.

Within walking distance, we have the beautiful Poole Park and Baiter Park where you can take in one of the many sports on the lake or simply kick back and have a coffee (or ice-cream) at our favourite spot The Kitchen (and Scoops) and watch the wildlife swim by. A 10 minute walk down to the Quay is a must - there's always so much going on there - motorbike nights, Vintage fairs, food festivals, the Boat Show and pubs, cafes and bars galore. The Lighthouse Theatre is a short stroll and offers dining, cinema, musicals, concerts, pantomime and more. We are literally across the road from the Speedway Stadium so if that ticks your box we couldn't be closer. Plus we are but a few minutes walk from the coach, bus and train stations so if you want to go off and explore, or you don't drive, we are ideally located.
