Endeavour Guest House is a detached property that enjoys views of open fields and countryside. It is only a few minutes walk from Endeavour to the river, which has a pathway and benches dotted along the way. If you follow the path to the end, it will take you directly into Haughton Park (which has a tea room in Haughton House) and a variety of children's play equipment, including picnic benches) and into Alford. You have your own front entrance and keys, so you can come and go as you please. The room price includes your own sitting room, which has a kettle, toaster, coffee machine, small fridge, microwave, television, comfortable Ikea sofas, cutlery, crockery, multiple usb sockets, an information pack containing information about things to do in Alford and a selection of board games and playing cards. A work desk space is also available. I enjoy meeting new people and the social interaction that comes with it. I have recently discovered an interest in gardening and watching various vegetables, herbs and fruit grow in our polytunnel.
Endeavour Guest House is only a ten minute drive to the free village car park which is a stones throw away from the places to eat and a wide range of things to do. From Endeavour, it is only a short drive to the Alford Community Campus which has the most amazing swimming pool with lots of different pool activities for all ages. It also sells some swimwear and diving sticks etc. The Grampian Transport Museum is located in the village car park. It has a tea room and lots of different types of vehicles, some of which can be climbed on, and has various interactive things to do as well. Alford Valley Community Railway is great fun for all ages as the little train goes through the golf course and some woodland, I wander if the Gruffalo ever makes an appearance?! The Haughton Country Park has public toilets, picnic benches/seats, a wide variety of playground equipment and a public car park, all free of charge. The village car park is also free, where you can find TR Home and Garden, which has a tea room and sells pre-loved/upcycled furniture, and last time I was in, they even had a live tortoise for you to look at, but not for sale! Farm and Fancy, also located in the village car park, sells all sorts of artisan food and non food items. If you are looking for take aways, Alford offers a fish and chip shop, an Indian, a Chinese and the Alford Bistro, all reasonably priced. A Pharmacy and Post Office is located on the main street. We also have a shop that sells hand made jewellery, which is displayed in the shop window. If you want to go back in time, Alford Heritage Museum is the place to go. If you need a loaf of bread and milk, Kimmies, a Co-Op and a newly opened Premier store is available, If knitting or crocheting is your thing, a shop caters for this as well which sells all different grades of wool, knitting needles, crochet needles and a whole lot more. There are also 2 charity shops. So, in my opinion, Alford has everything! See you soon!
