Kim and her husband David run Essey Musical which supplies band uniforms, kilts and musical instruments to many bands in Northern Ireland and across the world. If you’re thinking that your wardrobe is in dire need of a kilt, book a fitting with them during your visit - you won’t get a better price or quality! Using the upper floors for accommodation was inspired by demand from the visitors that come to take part in band competitions, see the parades and visit Belfast for concerts and events. Kim will be in the shop most days and will welcome you into the apartment if required, but we plan to allow you an independent stay and to come and go as it suits.

Property information

Essey Apartment is a newly refurbished 1 bedroom apartment located on one of the main arterial roads going into Belfast. We offer a warm, comfortable stay with everything that you might need for a break in the vibrant city of Belfast. The apartment has its own entrance and the keys are in a lockbox allowing flexible and contact free access to the property. We provide free WiFi, bed linen, towels, soaps, shampoo, tea, coffee, self service breakfast - and there are many excellent takeaways within 100 metres of your front door. We offer a king-sized bed and single bed in the top room and a double sofa bed in the sitting room giving the capacity for 5 guests. There is a shower room with toilet and handbasin. There are a lot of stairs in the property so it may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. Parking is available adjacent to the property and buses go to and from the city centre every 20 minutes.

Neighbourhood information

The Castlereagh Road is one of the main routes into Belfast and there are bus stops 50 metres from the front entrance going in and out of the city. If you want to walk it takes 15 minutes to get to the Waterfront Hall. There are lots of takeaways nearby and there is a Tesco Extra some 300 metres from the flat which is really handy. This part of East Belfast is pretty lively and has a strong community spirit.
