Company information

Family is at the Heart of Everything Colin and Margaret Wood bought Blairgowrie Holiday Park in 1981. There were just a few holiday homes in a field on the edge of Blairgowrie. Could they imagine that forty years later the business they started would have grown to six holiday parks, almost five hundred owners and that all three of their daughters would be at the helm of the business they started? … Probably not! Our Family Values Customers have always been at the heart of the business. Right from the start the focus was on providing high standard with quality accommodation, spotless facilities, and excellent customer care. This paid off when Blairgowrie Holiday Park achieved a 5-star rating from VisitScotland in 1990 and the accolades followed through the years, including a Thistle Award, the Oscar of the tourism industry in Scotland and Family Business of the Year in the Courier Awards − reinforcing their commitment and passion as a strong family business planning for the future! Growing the Family A lot has changed since those early days. Colin and Margaret had the vision to develop a top quality, all year-round holiday business, and invested heavily in the park. Over the years they added to the family as they bought other sites including Lomond Woods Holiday Park, Loch Lomond in 1994; Corriefodly Holiday Park, Perthshire in 2000; Deeside Holiday Park, Aberdeenshire in 2008; Campsie Glen Holiday Park, Stirlingshire in 2010; Callander Woods Holiday Park, Stirlingshire in 2018 and most recently Faskally Woods Holiday Park in October 2024, which was opened by Scotland’s First Minister, John Swinney in March 2025. Four Decades On In 2021 the company was lucky enough to celebrate its fortieth birthday – with a very big cake and a glass of bubbly of course! A glass was raised to our 120 strong team who are at the heart of our Wood Leisure Family and to another four decades of creating memorable holidays for our guests.

Guests found violating this rule will be charged GBP 50 for cleaning costs. - WiFi is available throughout the park; however as provided by a third party, coverage cannot be guaranteed in every unit, and signal strength may vary. - All pictures are for illustration purposes only; makes and models can vary.

Neighbourhood information

The town has two whisky distilleries. Edradour is the smallest legal distillery in Scotland, and Blair Athol Distillery, which has a popular visitor centre, dates back to 1798. Edradour sits to the east of town at the foot of the Moulin Moor. It is privately owned and produces only 12 casks per week with a production workforce of three men. Relatively unchanged since it started making whisky, it is the last example of a traditional distillery and not currently open to visitors. Blair Athol sits on the main road at the southeast of town and since 1933 has been owned by Bell's, now part of the Diageo group. Pitlochry station is home to Pitlochry Station Bookshop. The bookshop was set up in 2005 and is situated on Platform 1. The power station's dam is known for its 310-metre salmon ladder; fish can be viewed swimming from weir to weir within the ladder, via an underwater viewing station or a video from inside the visitor centre. Over 5,000 salmon pass through annually. The dam and power station were completed in 1951 as the last link in the Tummel hydro-electric power scheme which comprises nine power stations and reservoirs. The new reservoir, which was named Loch Faskally, was built across the River Tummel, flooding a large area upstream.
