Located in an elevated position in the small, peaceful hamlet of High Fremington, there are views across and up beautiful Swaledale, with walks and bike rides from the door. 5 minutes walk from the Dales Bike Centre with its cafe (amazing cakes!) and bike hire facilities, the barn conversion is 10 mins walk from the river, The Bridge pub in Grinton and the picturesque village of Reeth.
Reeth village green is surrounded by historic buildings, which include four hotels/pubs with food, cafes and restaurants, the post office and shops, and the ever popular ice cream parlour. There is also a playground behind the village overlooking Swaledale.
Beyond Reeth the dales split with Arkengarthdale and the cosy village of Langthwaite to the north, which includes the Red Lion pub with its memorabilia from All Creatures Great and Small, filmed in the local area. Heading North from Reeth, Swaledale takes in a number of villages (and pubs) to Gunnerside, Muker and finally Keld, with its famous waterfalls.
20 minutes drive to the east of Reeth is the historic town of RIchmond, with its castle and cobbled streets. 20 minutes to the south and you go over the moor tops into Wensleydale.
