With stunning views and an acre of private gardens, it’s an exclusive countryside retreat. The Garden House is a stunning 18th century country house set within the historic Walled Gardens of the Woodhall Estate. Farming and wildlife conservation are at our core. The house has a private gated entrance with ample parking. Four spacious bedrooms sleep eight guests, plus a large kitchen, dining room, sitting room with a log burner, TV snug room, and a large games room. We welcome well-behaved dogs. There is plenty to do in the local area. There are many, varied, countryside walks right from the doorstep across Woodhall Park. St Albans, Cambridge and London are all within easy reach, but we think that the very best thing about staying at The Garden House is the chance to relax in a beautiful setting, with an acre of private gardens, surrounded by trees, parkland, and wildlife. If you like bird spotting, squirrel, deer, or even sheep spotting, you will be happy here! The nearest village is Watton-at-Stone, a mile away, with a good bakery, a butcher and a deli. You'll also find The Bull, an excellent pub for local ales and hearty food. The historic market town of Hertford is 6 miles away, full of independent boutique shops to explore, real ale pubs and many dining options. We are a countryside retreat in Hertfordshire, but with easy road and rail access to London and the rest of the UK. There is ample car parking available at The Garden House.
