Grapnells Lodge combines two stylish neighbouring cottages on Wallasea island, Rochford, Essex. The Nest sleeps 2 to 6 guests and The Wagtails sleeps 2 to 8 guests and can be rented separately as 3-bedroom holiday homes or combined for up to 14 guests across 6 bedrooms and a mezzanine with a king-size bed. Set on a peaceful farm within a few meters of the RSPB Wallasea nature reserve, it’s ideal for family groups, walking holidays or as a base to explore the many local attractions. Important: Please note that in the event of any damages during your stay, our incident resolution partner, Truvi, may reach out to contact you and assist with the resolution process. Guests at both The Nest and The Wagtails enjoy all the comforts of home including kitchen, lounge, bathroom, Smart TV, dining tables, and fast Wi-Fi. Outdoor spaces include a sunset garden with patio wood stove at The Wagtails, and a garden courtyard with furniture and seating to enjoy sunrises and star gazing at The Nest that also has a wood burning stove in the vaulted ceiling lounge. Wallasea Island RSPB Nature Reserve Over 740 hectares with six walking trails, two river-view shelters, and a rich habitat for waders and wildfowl including Dark-bellied Brent Geese. Birdwatching Spot avocets, lapwings, curlews, marsh harriers and short-eared owls. Migration seasons bring flocks of waders and waterfowl. Coastal Trails Enjoy easy to moderate walks with stunning views of the Essex coastline, estuaries, mudflats, saltmarshes, lagoons and sea.
