Hi,
My name is Angela and I am married to Andrew. As a married couple we have a grown up son and daughter who are also now married.
We are nestled in the Dartmoor National Park, blessed with outstanding views of the moor and surrounding countryside. We are a working farm with cows, sheep, ducks and geese.
We are also close to the border of Cornwall with it's rugged coast lines, people friendly beaches and plentiful attractions for everyone.
I have been running our bed and breakfast for some years now and I love it as much today as I did at the start.
I also do care work which I find exceptionally rewarding. I am mostly an outgoing person who enjoys meeting people, keeping busy and enjoying life.
To get to Heathergate Cottage BnB get on to the M5 and take the junction for the A30 signposted to Okehampton. After approx 40 mins take the A386 junction signposted to Tavistock/Sourton. From here it is roughly 15 mins to the signpost for Lydford. Turn right into Lydford by the Farm Shop and Heathergate Cottage is about 2 mins drive from here.
I look forward to meeting you soon, sharing my local knowledge and love of this area of outstanding natural beauty.
Castles and Gorges - Heathergate is on the edge of Lydford village which was once a thriving medieval town with a mint and a castle, but is now a peaceful Devon village on the western slopes of Dartmoor.
With several cycling and walking trails close by, including the West Devon Way, the Granite Way, the Dartmoor Way and the Two Castles Trail long distance routes, Heathergate is the perfect base, or stopover, for walkers or cyclists. We are happy to provide pick up and drop off to local transport for walkers and guests seeking a car free holiday.
There is much to entertain the whole family in the local area including Lydford Gorge (National Trust) with its lovely woodland walks, breathtaking White Lady Waterfall and Devil's Cauldron.
Dartmoor has miles of beautiful open moorland for walking and cycling with tumbling streams and rocky Tors for scrambling up and climbing.
Traditional moorland inns offer good pub food and scrumptious Devon cream teas are served in the tearooms and cafe
