Property information

We are a family run Glamping & Camping site, with 2 white Geodomes which sleep up to four guests, a canvas Bell Tent (summer season only) that sleeps two guests, and a Bespoke Handmade Timber Tent again sleeping a maximum of two guests. Please note we are a working campsite and therefore there will be at times campers pitching their own tents. We also have access to a long distance hiking trail, so again there can be guests arriving from the trail to camp here as well. Our site is set on 3 and a half acres of land with mountain views. Our Geodomes have private luxury shower rooms and our Timber Tent and Bell Tent have the use of shared high quality shower rooms with other guests who are staying on-site. Please note: All our accommodation have steps to access the accommodation, the facilities building can be 20 meters to 50 meters from your accommodation, and there are again steps to access into the shower-rooms. Our location means you are in easy reach or Urquhart Castle, The Caledonian Canal, Neptunes Staircase and the cities of Inverness and Fort William. There are lots of local pubs and restaurants for meals or you can stay in and cook on your kitchenette. We have direct access to the Great Glen Way where there are miles of walks from our site, so your four legged friends will be more than happy. There is no electric in the units as the lights are solar, the Geodomes have Log Burners for heating, and the Timber Tent has a gas heater. All our glamping accommodations have access to an electric charging locker in reception for phones, laptops, iPads etc and all have an outdoor picnic table with a metal plate for a bbq and your own fire-pit (We do not have a BBQ on-site). Please bring torches and towels with you.

Neighbourhood information

Our nearest shop is located in the village of Fort Augustus which is roughly 4 miles from us. It stocks a vast variety of everyday essentials but you do pay a little bit more for the convenience of their location. Our nearest main supermarkets are based in Inverness which is 30 miles from us. We do have our own small on-site shop offering, drinks, snacks, toiletries, tea, coffee, sugar, Long life milk, breakfast cereals and a small selection of meal options. There are many restaurants and pubs within the vicinity. Fort Augustus has many more and a more varied choice, but our local with which we've eaten at ourselves and rather enjoyed is the Glenmoriston Arms which serves food and is only 1 mile from the campsite. We have a nice on-site walk/cycle way (which is more for mountain bikes than perhaps road bikes) reachable from the back of the campsite, here you can walk safely and enjoyably into Invermoriston (1 1/2 miles) or Fort Augustus (4 miles) and or you can hire bikes from Fort Augustus. There is a 75m incline walk through the forest to reach the walk/cycle way.
