Opened by Andy & Michelle Cooper in early 2015, Invicta House was rescued from a derelict state over the course of the years since then and continues to date; although the interior is now mostly complete, the garden and land beyond continues to be returned to a decent state. A former Local Government Officer, Michelle also runs The Fabric Fairy, a shop wholly within Invicta House, which specialises in fabrics for Patchwork & Quilting but also stocks a small supply of other craft goods; The Fabric Fairy won a national award in 2016 for being the Best Independent Haberdashery Shop in Scotland and continues to serve the local craft community. We speak French and a smattering of German, and welcome visitors of all nationalities. We have a dog, Isla, who is very welcoming to other dogs and humans alike (!) - she is very vocal when guests arrive, but this should not be mistaken because she is very friendly and welcoming. Being half Collie, she is likely to want to round you up and hates it when guests leave!
Golspie is located on the shores of the beautiful and tranquil Dornoch Firth, with an award-winning beach and Ben Bhraggie, with its 100-foot statue of the 1st Duke of Sutherland at the summit, overlooking. At the end of Ferry Road is the Loch Fleet peninsula, a Scottish Nature reserve and home to two varieties of wild deer, a colony of seals and a family of Ospreys which can be seen hunting over the Loch at dusk in the summer months. Golspie Golf Club, open to non-members is just 1 minute.
