From the moment you arrive, the lovingly tended garden and colorful flower baskets of Janet's Gem Leasgill will charm you. This delightful cottage is perfect for a relaxing getaway, whether you're enjoying a cosy night in front of the wood-burning stove or dining al fresco in the private garden. You can enjoy nearby quiet country walks with stunning estuary views, or take a short drive to explore the rugged fells and lakes of the Lake District National Park.
Relax on comfy sofas around a wood-burning stove, catch up on Netflix (your account), or curl up with a good book. Prepare delicious meals with ease in the well-equipped kitchen, featuring an electric oven and halogen hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and coffee machine. Enjoy meals at the dining table or linger over breakfast while planning your day.
The master bedroom boasts a king-size bed and Smart TV. The twin bedroom can be converted into a second king-size bed upon request (book in advance). A modern shower room is conveniently located on the ground floor. A washing machine is available under the stairs.
Gas central heating, bed linen, towels, and an initial supply of logs are provided. The cottage features a terraced garden with a patio, table, and chairs for outdoor dining, and a secure lockable shed for storing up to three bikes. Off-road parking is available for two cars. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
PLEASE NOTE this cottage is not suitable for children under 5 or those with limited mobility due to the steep steps in the terraced garden.

Nestled just1.6 miles from Milnthorpe, Leasgill is a charming hamlet perfectly situated for exploring the stunning southern fells and towns of the Lake District, as well as the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Kendal, and the picturesque towns along the southern coast of Cumbria.
Milnthorpe offers a variety of shops, including Booths supermarket and takeaways for those days when you prefer not to cook. For day trips, the popular market town of Kendal is easily accessible, along with Windermere, Ambleside, and Grasmere, all reachable via the 555 bus that services Leasgill.
Just a short walk from Leasgill is Levens Hall and Gardens, home to the world’s oldest topiary garden and a stunning Georgian manor house. Here, you can enjoy a light lunch at the café and browse for souvenirs in the gift shop. Enhance your visit by exploring the deer park, featuring tree-lined avenues where you can observe fallow deer and rare breed goats in their natural habitat.
Haversham Head is also within walking distance, offering breathtaking views of the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay. Sizergh Castle, complete with a café and shop, is just a 10-minute drive away, while Arnside is a 20-minute drive for a lovely beach walk. For birdwatching enthusiasts, the Leighton and Foulshaw Moss Nature Reserves are a short drive away, providing excellent opportunities to observe local wildlife.
