We relocated from Wiltshire to Shropshire in March 2021, having tried for many years to find the right small holding. The Hen & Ferret eventually showed on our search and we secured this very special and unique place to live. We are currently making it our own, working on the house, land, and garden. Our first project was our self-contained annexe called The Hen Den which we are very proud of and it gives us a chance to share this place with like-minded people who love the countryside but still want that bit of luxury when taking a break. We are an ex-IT and finance professional and enjoy the experience of hosting and meeting new people, helping to ensure they have the perfect stay.
We are in an area of outstanding natural beauty known as the Corvedale valley in the Shropshire Hills 15 minutes or 7 miles from the beautiful medieval market town of Ludlow. We have nine acres of land, an 80 tree cider apple orchard and are then surrounded on two sides by mixed woodland. Nature abounds here so expect sights and sounds!
The views, sunsets, sunrises and night skies are incredible. No light pollution means great opportunities for star gazing.
Fantastic opportunities for chilling, reading, and taking everything in or getting out into the countryside for long walks. Our comprehensive Welcome Pack will show you all the local attractions (many), gardens, walks, and food recommendations. You are in an ideal location to explore Shropshire, Herefordshire, and Wales.
