I love living in Cumbria with the Lake District on my doorstep. I make the most of the many outdoor opportunities in the area as well as enjoying the entertainment and cultural facilities, such as Rheged and the Theatre by the Lake. Greystoke Gill is a quiet hamlet with the River Petteril running through and the home of the Beckstones Art Gallery. The village of Greystoke is one mile away and can be visited by footpath across the fields or by road. Greystoke has a pub, The Boot and Shoe, which offers great pub food at lunchtimes and in the evenings. There is a Post Office and shop open every day except Sunday, Quirky Workshops are based here and run various craft workshops. There is a public football field and playground. In summer the open-air swimming pool is open, weather permitting. There is a large church which holds Sunday services and occasional events.There are local walks, and short drive to the larger hills of the lake district.
