Just a mile and a half from Boat of Garten is Abernethy Forest RSPB Reserve on the shore of Loch Garten Home of the Ospreys!
Myself & my husband took over the chalet from my parents in June 2024. We both love coming up to boat of Garten with our 3 labradors to stay, but don't get enough time to do so! We love staying in the chalet so much we decided to hire it out when we couldn't be there, share it with other! We don't always get the chance to meet our guests, and wish we were closer however are more than happy to speak to them by telephone or email if they have any questions.
Based in the beautiful village of Boat of Garten, Poppy Lodge is a fantastic base for exploring the area or simply relaxing.
We love to cycle and walk in the area.
One of our favourite walks is along the Speyside Way path to Aviemore, approx 5 miles. The views towards Aviemore are stunning. We will then have a bit of lunch in Aviemore and get the bus back to Boat of Garten. Alternatively walk the opposite direction to Nethybridge, another beautiful highland village, you can also get the bus back from here.
Cycling is very popular in the area, both off road and road cycling. Just opened in 2021 is a Pump Track suitable for cyclist of all ages. It is only a short walk from Poppy Lodge situated in the woods across the road from the Park entrance.
Of course there is much more to do in the area to suit all interests, golfing, skiing etc, we have a basket of leaflets & flyers and walks in the chalet for you to look through!
Enjoy your break.
Our guests use Poppy lodge as a base to enjoy the outdoor life in the immediate area and also as a base to travel a bit further. Nairn, Findhorn and Inverness to the North are easily reached by car. Loch Morlich, with it beautiful beach is a 20 min drive away.
