The Loft at the Timbers is an open-plan, modern loft hideaway in the heart of the Shropshire countryside. With it's high ceilings and exposed brick, it has an luxurious industrial feel, while at the same time, cosy and peaceful. Feel free to enjoy a glass of prosecco in the Loft's garden area.
Set in the grounds of a 17th century cottage. The Loft is self-contained and offers lovely country walks and bike rides straight from its village location, as well as good transport links for Shropshire and Wales. The World Heritage Site of Ironbridge is a couple of miles away and there are plenty of lovely cosy country pubs for dining out. Please email if you'd like any recommendations.
We love pooches, but just ask that you don't leave your dog alone at all, they get frightened in unfamiliar surroundings. We have a local doggy daycare if you'd like more information.
There are two entrances to the property and you will see a designated parking space available next to the back log store, this is accessed by the rear gate opposite the bungalow across the road.
The space is suitable for two adults and two children. Adults get the king size bed and children have the clic clac sofa bed that is shown in the pictures.
Kitchen facilities include a microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle
Hi, my name is Karen and I’ve lived at the Timbers with my family for 16 years.
Last year, after taking early retirement, I decided to open up the annexe at my home for visitors to enjoy the beautiful countryside and everything it has to offer.
I have a background in hospitality and for fun, I was a fitness instructor and PT for many years, although the knees aren’t what they used to be. What I love, is the cross country running straight from the front door.
My approach to hosting is laid back and I hope that visitors enjoy the peace and tranquility of staying at the Loft.
The space is self contained and accessed by a key code. I very much leaves the guests in peace.
The village and surrounding areas offer many pretty hiking, biking and riding trails. There's cleaning facilities for muddy bikes, boots and pooches outside the door.
Theres a safe, off road, bike trail from Coalport to Bridgnorth or to Ironbridge called Route 45. This is suitable for children.
There is a riding stables in the village where livery or lessons could be booked. There is room on the drive for a horse box or trailer and the local, cosy, dog-friendly pub does tasty home-cooked meals.
2 miles away we have Coalport, which is on the River Severn. From here you will find bike trails that lead to both Bridgnorth with its historic beauty, artisan shops and fantastic eateries, and the World Heritage site of Ironbridge with pubs, coffee shops and the Ironbridge Gorge Museums. The banks of the River Severn are ideal for picnics.
20 miles away is the medieval town of Shrewsbury with all its history, Tudor buildings, quirky shops and restaurants, also on the river, this is definitely worth a visit and a sightseeing trip down the Severn. Telford with the Town Park, various eateries and shopping centre is 5 miles away.
Much Wenlock and Ludlow are also well worth visiting.
