Quayside is an imposing 18th Century converted warehouse recently renovated and containing all the charm and character you could dream of in the heart of a traditional Cornish fishing village. Steps away from the beautiful harbour and just seconds from all village amenities, Quayside offers a choice of fully-equipped, luxurious one and two bedroom apartments. A single parking permit for the harbour, a short level walk from your apartment, is provided free of charge.
One of the most prominent and historic listed buildings in Mevagissey, Quayside has had a fascinating and diverse past. Over the course of its more than two centuries nestled between the centre of the village and the harbour it has served as a pilchard press, net loft, doctor's surgery and even as the premises of the local undertaker!
Mevagissey is a fabulous year-round destination, one of the few remaining working fishing villages in Cornwall with its many narrow cobbled streets, quaint cottages and a range of shops, pubs and restaurants. The harbour is the centre of village life in Mevagissey. Fishing boats deliver their catch year-round. Anglers can either join a charter boat for offshore fishing, or simply cast a line off Lighthouse Quay. Mevagissey Museum and Aquarium are located directly on the harbour, though opening times are seasonal. During the main summer months some of the fisherman offer leisurely 30 minute cruises of the bay. Mevagissey is ideally situated for visits to gorgeous Cornish beaches as well as the enchanting Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project and Wheal Martyn for a taste of Cornwall’s mining heritage.
