The living room is on the ground floor and has a log burning stove set into a large stone fireplace for the perfect cosy feel. The television contains a dvd player. With an emphasis on hygiene, the floor is an attractive, easily cleaned wood effect porcelain covering.
The middle floor contains a well-equipped kitchen containing a sink, storage areas, fridge, oven and hob, microwave, breakfast bar and stools: In fact, everything you’ll need from a kitchen for your stay.
The bedroom and ensuite bathroom are on the top floor, where you’ll have views along the Cromford Canal and into the woodland. There is a double bed with reading lights, a chest of drawers, mirror, hair drier and two storage shelves for cases and travel bags. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink.
The owners live at The Old sawmill just a few yards away. The canal side garden and wharf are available for guests to use. The stream flows through the garden and has a waterfall with a drop of thirty feet contained within a large stone lined chamber built at the time of the canal’s construction in 1794.
The owners are dog friendly, keep hens, and are actively engaged in tree planting and conservation of the canal and woodland. They have also contributed to the understanding of the industrial heritage in the area through excavations and academic research. They want you to have an enjoyable, fulfilling time here so that you’ll come back time after time and really get to know the area.
Robin Hood Tower sits in woodland, in a natural amphitheatre on the side of the Cromford Canal in the Derwent Valley: A World Heritage Site. From the Tower you can walk for miles through woodland and along the canal towpath without crossing a road. There is plenty to see and do right outside, whether you’re interested in wildlife or our industrial past.
