Rose Barn is well positioned, occupying an enviable location in the small hamlet of Outgate, less than 1 mile to Hawkshead and a short drive to Ambleside. The Outgate Inn - the local ale house - serves good food and is just a short walk from the property. In Hawkshead itself, you’ll find most conveniences and an abundance of shops, cafes, and dining pubs along its largely pedestrianised village centre. Walkable by day and only a short drive in the evening, you'll find the well-renowned Drunken Duck Inn - famed for its excellent hospitality and wonderful food. You’re also ideally located for exploring some of the Lake District’s most sought-after destinations, including Wray Castle, Grizedale Forest and Tarn Hows. Not forgetting the thrill that comes from scaling close-by fells like Latterbarrow, or embracing the local waters and open-water swimming in nearby Windermere.
