The rock is inhabited by a permaculture community. A small group of people are working together to create an eco friendly business and project.
We have two huts for you, perfect for a quiet holiday in nature, while still being close to a local shops, pub, the ferry etc... It is an ideal location to explore the South of the Isle of Skye.
You will have access to much of our 15 acre Rock and beaches for walks and peace & quiet leisure.
You’ll have the whole cabin or hut to yourselves.
They have electric heating, a fridge, a toaster and a kettle.
As you can see in the pictures, the outdoor kitchen is partially open. It has a gas hob, hot and cold water and the basic cooking essentials,
You have your own compost toilet and your own bonfire place.
The shower room is 200m walk away. We have a big wet room with compost toilets and hot showers! Note that the shower room is NOT heated.
Please accept that, even though the huts are clean, comfortable and cosy, this is a back to nature experience, A simple glamping experience. We use nature friendly practises which included using compost toilets, unscented soaps and torches to walk around at night. We do not iron our sheets but they are washed well. Our huts are self build while re-using materials.
Sadly our Rock is not easily accessible for people with mobility issues.
Please come with an understanding that our garden is wild and there are minor improvement works going on. Rest assured our shower is hot and your hut is clean and your stay will not be negatively influenced by the works.
The Ferry car park is pretty close to your cabin. You may hear traffic arriving and the first ferry departing between 7.30-9AM in the morning.
The West coast of Scotland can be icy, really wet and windy. Check the weather forecast. Choose your activities wisely.

Please note that during winter months, much of Skye is 'closed' for business.
Commonly known as ‘the garden of Skye’, Sleat is Skye’s softer, greener peninsula with lush vegetation reaching down to rocky shorelines and sandy beaches. There is a real garden at Armadale Castle with exotic trees and shrubs from around the world, a new distillery at Torabhaig, and walks to suit everyone from the youngest to the oldest!
There is a local pub that provides meals during most of the year and a local community owned shop.
There is a 'Pasta Shed' at the bottom of our drive, at the ferry park that provides sandwiches, hot food and hot and cold drinks during day time hours. (May be closed 'off season')
