I have been welcoming visitors from all over the world to my small B&B here in Helmsdale. It is good to see that Scotland is so well appreciated worldwide. Sea Song is a letting room in Selkie House, A comfortable traditional house located on Helmsdale harbour to the east, south-facing sunny, with great views across the firth, sea angling, sailing boats, crab and lobster boats, launches pleasure cruisers and yachts using the harbour. Sea angling is available on request weather permitting. Spacious rooms with high ceilings, vanity units and wash hand basins in each room, The shower room with hand basin and toilet equipped with shampoo conditioner shower gel, is shared between the 2 letting bedrooms. Sorry no en-suite facilities in house. Access to the kitchen with washing machine and dryer, A good selection of drinks ie tea coffee supplied along with various biscuits, etc.. Plenty of opportunity to explore sea angling and sailing from our unique little harbour. Informal angling outings can be arranged, Outstanding coastal views with rocky cliffs and caves unusual seabirds and seals. Lovely walks with made up tracks for easy walking for adults and dogs, ideal for children and pups., Beautiful sunsets and sunrises in October and November. Helmsdale is a well serviced little village, church health center, dentist, Spar food shop gift shop tackle shop. Eat out at the Belgrave Hotel, Bannockburn Inn or La Mirage seafood restaurant and takeaway Thyme and Plaice also worth a visit A patio seating area and barbecue in the enclosed garden Dogs welcome. I opened Selkie House B&B in 2015 Since then many guests from a very wide variety of cultures, religions and countries, have been invited and used my business since that date. I try hard to cater for all tastes and needs and respectfully request that acceptance and understanding is maintained. Helmsdale is a very picturesque little fishing village and a delightful place to work and live. I enjoy meeting people from all the different parts of Britain and also our visitors from the many different countries in the world who are using our lovely wee corner for harbour holidays. We are a small establishment located in a friendly village, please don't expect perfection as I have to get around everything myself. My goal is to provide a comfortable relaxed break with good food in a wonderful location. If there is anything I have missed or that is not up to to a reasonable standard please mention it at the time instead of leaving me a bad report., Crabs lobsters and langoustines can be bought straight from the boats. A healthy options breakfast will be served from 8.00am till 10.00am cooked to your specific specifications. Anyone wishing to use the first Orkney ferry from Gills Bay, early breakfast can be arranged with the host. . A pollution-free haven for wildlife including rare birds and sea life. Extensive coastal and countryside walks. Christmas and New Year specials enjoy a glass of mulled wine and mince pies on the house. I wish to impress, I cannot accept a booking from anyone under the age of 18 years for obvious reasons.
Super location with coastal walks supporting a wide variety of wildlife from the doorstep. Well serviced village with a variety of eating houses shops, pubs and restaurants. Health centre with doctor and dentist Church of Scotland and Free Church and community centre. Minimart gift shops cafes and bars..Timespan interpretive centre, is well worth a visit. Centrally placed for visits to Dunrobin Castle Brora, Golspie Lybster, Dunbeath, and Berridale. 5 mins walk to the village centre, 5 mins drive from the main A9 trunk road. Ideal for quiet relaxed holidays.
