Situated just half a mile from the property is the local BKSA Kite school and national training centre. The centre offers lessons in kiteboarding, powerkiting, kite buggying, kite landboarding, hydrofoiling, stand up paddleboarding along with a variety of group activity days. The house is only a few minutes’ drive to the medieval Cinque Port town of Rye for shops, pubs, and restaurants. Why not take the opportunity to reconnect with nature by visiting the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. Here you can discover the wildlife in a mosaic of coastal habitats- shingle, salt marsh, saline lagoons, coastal grazing marsh, freshwater gravel pits and reedbeds. Explore the ever-changing coastline and military history, or simply enjoy a walk beside the sea. The area also contains considerable historic interest with military fortifications from the 16th, 19th and 20th centuries, a lifeboat disaster and evidence of people’s early efforts to defend the land from the sea. The flat, open, and historic landscape is popular with visitors. It can provide an incredibly special experience. There is a good network of footpaths that enable much of Nature Reserve to be visited from access points in Rye Town, Winchelsea Beach and Rye Harbour.
