Welcome to your cosy coastal retreat in the heart of St Ives — a lovely one-bedroom house tucked away just moments from the vibrant harbour, golden beaches, and winding cobbled streets of this iconic Cornish town. Set on quiet and characterful Bedford Road, this property blends rustic comfort with thoughtful touches to make every guest feel instantly at home.
Inside, the house opens into an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area, perfect for unwinding after a day by the sea. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook up fresh local seafood or prepare a relaxed breakfast before heading out to explore.
A particularly tight spiral staircase leads you up to the first floor, where you'll find a spacious double bedroom with large windows and plenty of natural light. The bed is plush and inviting, made up with crisp white linens and high-quality bedding.
The bathroom has a powerful walk-in shower and fresh towels.
We’ve aimed to create a space that feels more like a rustic home than a rental. Whether you’re here for a romantic escape, solo recharge, or a long-weekend adventure, this house offers a perfect base in one of Cornwall’s most magical towns.
Hi, I’m Rowan — originally from Wales but lucky enough to have called St Ives home since my early twenties. I fell in love with this town the moment I arrived — the surf, the art, the winding lanes, the sea air... it’s a place that just gets under your skin in the best possible way.
These days, I live and travel with my family full-time (we're currently in New Zealand), but St Ives will always be a special part of our lives. That’s why I’m so excited to share our little spot with you — it’s a rustic, relaxed surf-pad-style home, tucked just a short stroll from the centre of town and the beaches.
As a surfer, traveller, and book lover, I’ve stayed in places all over the world — and I know how important it is for somewhere to feel welcoming, simple, and real. I want this place to be just that for you. Not fussy or sterile, but easygoing, cosy, and full of character.
You’ll have full privacy with easy self-check-in, but I’m always just a message away if you need anything or want local tips. Whether you’re here to catch waves, wander galleries, or just breathe in the sea breeze, I hope you love St Ives as much as we do.
St Ives is one of those rare places that truly has it all — stunning beaches, world-class art, incredible food, and a laid-back coastal charm that makes it hard to leave. The house is located on Bedford Road, a quiet residential street just a short stroll from the beating heart of the town, meaning you’re perfectly positioned to soak up everything St Ives has to offer without needing a car.
Wander just a few minutes down the road and you’ll find yourself in the middle of the town’s vibrant harbour, with its colourful fishing boats, independent shops, and artisan cafés. Enjoy breakfast by the sea, browse boutique galleries, or grab a scoop of local ice cream as you explore the cobbled streets.
Art lovers will be in their element — the world-renowned Tate St Ives and Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden are both within easy walking distance. And if you're here for the surf, you're in luck: Porthmeor Beach, one of Cornwall’s best surf spots, is just a short walk away. Prefer something quieter? Try Porthgwidden or Bamaluz Beach, two hidden gems loved by locals.
The area is full of incredible restaurants, from fresh seafood shacks to cosy pubs and fine dining — ask for recommendations and you’ll never eat a bad meal here. There’s also a buzzing cultural scene, with pop-up events, live music, and open studios dotted around town throughout the year.
Despite being so central, Bedford Road offers a peaceful escape from the bustle — close to the action, but just tucked away enough for a quiet night’s sleep. Whether you want to surf, sketch, swim, or simply soak up the salty air, this neighbourhood is the perfect base for your Cornish adventure.
