If you are looking for a quiet rural location, whilst still in easy reach of all the main attractions in the area, Tanleys could be just what you are searching for. It is situated within the Cairngorms National Park, just off the A95. Tanleys is 5.8 miles from Grantown-on-Spey, 9.8 miles from Aviemore and 32 miles from Inverness. However If you like the bright lights you may prefer something located in the towns.
Accommodation is available for the exclusive use of a group of up to two members of a family or friends. The accommodation has a private lounge/dining room, and a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom. There is a private garden area, with a balcony accessed from French doors in the lounge. This leads down to an outdoor seating area, where in the evening you can take advantage of the low level of light pollution and enjoy the dark skies. Tanleys is setup as a suite so that guests have the place to themselves and do not have to share the lounge or outside seating area with anyone else.
The bedroom and lounge/dining room offer beautiful views across the open countryside and you can have breakfast with a view, overlooking the Cairngorm mountains framed by majestic pine trees.
Hi, my name is Jane Robertson and I brought Tanleys at the end of 2005 with plans one day to retire to the Highlands and in December 2020 that day arrived. I managed to get up just before the last lockdown happened and spent the time getting Tanleys ready for guests, which was challenging but fun. My family is Scottish, and I have loved visiting here since I was a child and even lived in the suburbs of Glasgow for 3 years back in the late 1990’s. However, the Highlands was always the dream, and I am looking forward to sharing my home and my passion for Scotland with you. The other residents here are my Westie, Angus, who I have had since he was a pup of 8 weeks. He is 13 years old now, although you would not know it from the way he behaves. He was joined by Skye, a female Labrador puppy, in October 2021. If you are not a dog fan, do not worry they do not come into the guest accommodation, but if you want to say hallo, they are always there in their part of the garden with a warm Highlands welcome. I love walking, water colour painting and meeting new people.
The Cairngorms National Park is the largest National Park in the UK and offers endless things to do all year round, walks to suit all abilities, including the famous Speyside Way, wildlife watching and tours, winter and water sports, fishing in the Spey, many local attractions , stunning drives, even castles. Local Ness is only 45 miles away if you fancy a spot of monster hunting.
There is so much to do why not stay a several days and explore, but however long you choose to stay, I look forward to welcoming you to my home and hope you find it as peaceful and relaxing as I do.
