The property was lovely, beautifully decorated and it was comfortable and clean. Sam was very thorough with her directions about how to reach the property. She had left milk, tea and coffee and toiletries.

Bright, fresh, airy feel to a very well organised Annexe. Second to none facilities. There is a microwave and conduction hob safely tucked away. The location is so peaceful & tranquil, shame we didn't have more time to benefit from the local pub...

It had a nice collection of flowers around the patio and the nearby pub was very friendly.

Beautiful tranquil location. The property was very clean and tidy. Just right for a few days away. There was a pub very near by but we didn’t visit.

The Old Forge Annexe is a walker's or artist's retreat. A cosy private annexe to our country cottage with fabulous views over the village green. It is very peaceful and you will wake to the sound of birdsong not traffic. The village is one of the highest points in Suffolk so there are lots of fantastic walks nearby. Escape to our rural idyll and relax knowing that the bustling and pretty market town of Bury St Edmunds (voted best place to live in the East of England 2019) is only 15 minutes drive away.
Bury St Edmunds with its many independent and high street shops, cafes and restaurants and the historic Abbey Gardens and Cathedral is only 9 miles away. Also nearby are National Trust's Ickworth House, as well as historic villages like Lavenham and Long Melford. Cambridge is 45 minutes drive (or take the train from Bury). Racing at Newmarket is reached by only 25 minutes drive. Or just explore the many footpaths around the nearby villages and enjoy a relaxing drink or meal at a country pub. The Queens Head in our village is a quintessential 14th century free house which serves excellent food every evening except Mondays and Tuesdays (and lunch Friday-Sunday).
