Happisburgh is a pretty seaside village with a village shop, and for seafood lovers there is a small fishmongers selling locally caught fresh fish and crab. For your beloved four-legged friends there are a variety of countryside walks across footpaths and bridleways, or if they prefer the sand between their paws try Cart Gap, a dog friendly beach with a the fabulous Smallsticks Cafe. Visit the wonderful East Ruston Vicarage Gardens with 32 acres of landscaped garden, a plant shop and tearoom. Nearby excellent foody pubs include The Swan at Ingham & The Star at Lessingham. The market town of Stalham is a ten minute drive away with a large supermarket & petrol station and other amenities.
A few miles north up the coast from Happisburgh, you have pretty Victorian seaside village of Mundesley, where you can enjoy a traditional holiday - why not also try your hand at surfing? Throughout the year, visitors can enjoy exhibitions, festivals and concerts in the village halls and parks. This charming village has a parade of independent shops, including a butcher, green grocer, fishmonger, florist, a craft and an art shop and clothes outlet. There are also pubs (try The Ship and sit in its lovely garden, overlooking the sea) and cafes and the streets are lined with pretty flint buildings and cottages. Mundesley is also home to three churches as well as a Maritime Museum, one of the smallest museums in England! A nine-hole golf course sits on the hillside of the River Mun valley and offers wonderful views over the coast and countryside.
A little further north and you will find the lovely beaches of Overstrand and Cromer. While you are in Cromer, be sure to pick up a Cromer crab or take in one of the shows in the Pavillion Theatre on the iconic pier.
