Whether you seek solitude with a novel by the fire or shared moments with loved ones, our cabin is designed to envelop you in comfort, and tranquillity while you enjoy nature’s gentle hum. What to Expect • Escape the hustle and bustle and reconnect with nature in this enchanting cabin retreat. • Unwind by the crackling fire, taking in breathtaking views of the rolling hills through expansive picture windows. • A thoughtfully designed space featuring a well-equipped kitchen, a cosy living area with a log-burning stove, a super king-sized bed nook, a single bed nook, and an additional single bed perched atop the charming mezzanine. • Indulge in a luxurious outdoor soak in the elegant roll-top bath, surrounded by serene landscapes. • Immerse yourself at night under the dazzling, star-studded sky—this is a designated dark skies area, perfect for stargazing. • Nestled between the mountains and the sea, adventure is at your doorstep—but if you prefer, simply relax and picnic in Ffridd Bach’s private meadows. Good to know • Well-behaved small/medium sized dogs are welcome with a one dog limit and additional charges applicable • No Wi-Fi—so you can unplug and savour life’s simple pleasures. However, a generally good 4G signal is available for those "just in case" moments. • The mezzanine platform is accessed via steep steps, making the cabin unsuitable for young children. • A welcome basket of organic eggs from our delightful hens will be waiting for you, along with a starter pack of organic tea, coffee, sugar, and milk—just let us know if you prefer dairy or oat. • We're off the beaten track, so traveling by car is recommended. This is a place to slow down, savour the beauty around you, and let life’s simplest pleasures take centre stage.
In a previous iteration of life, as founders of White Peak Shepherd Huts Josephine and Glenn lived in the Peak District where they crafted their beloved shepherd huts for folk up and down the land. But sea and mountains called, and when their dream small holding came up for sale they took the huge decision to hang up their hut building hats and off they headed for adventures new! Blending their keen eye for design with the same care and craftsmanship that made their huts so cherished, they created The Fold—a unique and inviting country cabin. Thoughtfully designed to complement its surroundings, it draws from the materials seen in farm buildings and barns scattered across the landscape, ensuring it feels like a natural part of the countryside. Now, Josephine and Glenn don’t just live in this peaceful patch of Wales—they get to share it with others, inviting guests to experience the quiet beauty, wide horizons, and simple joys of rural life.
We are located in the tiny rural hamlet, just a couple of miles from the village of Llangernyw. Surrounded by quiet country lanes, rolling fields, and a rich tapestry of wildlife we offer a peaceful retreat from the bustle of modern life. Being tucked away in this secluded spot doesn’t mean being isolated, though. A sense of community abounds, with welcoming locals and great grub in the local country pubs just a short drive away. The village of Llangernyw itself is steeped in history with St Digain’s Church standing as a testament to its rich heritage. This 13th-century church is home to one of the oldest living trees in Europe—a 4,000-year-old yew that has silently witnessed centuries of change. Despite its rural charm, we remarkably well-positioned for adventure. In just 15 minutes, you can reach the stunning coastline, where golden beaches invite you to relax or take a refreshing dip in the sea. Meanwhile, a 20-minute drive leads to the rugged beauty of Snowdonia National Park, a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you prefer gentle local strolls through scenic countryside or mountain expeditions that challenge your endurance, the area offers a diverse range of walking routes. From its deep-rooted history to its breathtaking surroundings, Llangernyw is a place where nature, heritage, and community intertwine seamlessly. Whether you seek solitude, adventure, or a sense of belonging, our little hamlet has something special to offer.
