Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. The walled Garden Room gives privacy and security within the unique and historical town of Knighton. We are central to amazing pubs and eating houses and we are five minutes from the Offas Dyke path. Our countryside is beyond compare.
Our garden room has been designed with your comfort in mind. We have a kitchen area which has a built in Rangemaster cooker. Our shower is powerful and remarkably soothing and the bed is highly comfortable. I love colour, and I think that will show when you enter the Garden Room. (although I like to think our creation is in the best possible taste!)
You will find you are in walking distance of hair dressers, beauticians, chemist, flower shops, antique and Retro shops. Visit our organic shop, or Mr Pugh the butcher and Cost Cutters for food. Restorella is a unique shop with wonderful gifts. In Knighton you will find The Furniture Barn - this is a community led project, and it is full of wonderful finds. St Edwards Church is 2 minutes away, it is a wonderful church with an outstanding vicar (Petra is her name) and she and her husband will often host jazz and musical evenings.
We are a stones throw from the Offa's Dyke Centre (grab a cup of tea and a cake) and as walking is a favourite pass time, grab a map and go on a ramble. Horse riding, golf and snooker down at the Horse and Jockey are all wonderful ways to relax and restore your equilibrium. Our Leisure Centre has an amazing swimming pool with gym and keep fit classes.
The Garden Room has been created to give some peace and tranquility in this busy world. I am an artist and I have a studio space at the Old School in Knighton. I know how important it is to have a break from the every day. The walks here are outstanding, as is the proximity of the unique town of Knighton. It is all available!. I hope you have a pleasant stay, I have hosted before and have pleasure in doing so again.
Situated in a quiet street in the rear walled garden of a Georgian town house in the historic town of Knighton in Powys. The town is host to several good pubs with fantastic food and a short distance to the famous Offa's Dyke path and information centre. Wonderful countryside and riverside walks are close at hand.
Our favourite pub is the Horse and Jockey which is a 2 minute walk. You can eat in the restaurant or the bar and the food is pretty tasty. Try the sizzling chicken or Beef platter and you will come away with your taste buds satisfied.
Another favourite is The Banc. This is found in the main street and retains much of the original feautures of the old bank, along with the vaults which is a private space for group dining. We are 8 miles away from Kington, which is a centre for walking. You will find a marvellous delicatessen, butcher, gift shops and art galleries.
Visit Presteigne (7 miles) which was voted by the Sunday Times the best place to live in Britain (although I would offer Knighton as a contender for the title. )
In Presteigne you will find the most amazing and wonderful church, the Judges Lodgings, antique shops, clothes shops and 'The Works' - a unique barn with a wonderful dining space and a selection of art and clothing and gifts. The Sydney Nolan Trust is definitely one not to miss.
Hay On Wye is 25 miles away for book lovers and shop lovers. Visit the festival! (23/05/24 - 2/06/24)
