Wareham is an historic, Saxon-walled town, encircled by the ancient earthen ramparts built by Alfred the Great in the 9th century to defend from Viking invaders.
Skirted by the Rivers Frome and Piddle, there are many picturesque walks nearby, with great bird watching and incredible sunrise and sunset views. Trails start just down the lane - perfect for a little wander to explore the local area or for a quick dog walk.
The town itself has a lively atmosphere, centred around the riverside Quay, with Saturday markets, regular summer events & water-sports / private motorboat hire available, as well as. river cruises to Poole Harbour. The award winning Italian Bakery is just a few doors down from the house too - ideal!
With countless natural beauty spots just a short drive (or bus ride) away, Wareham is known as "The Gateway" to the Purbeck for good reason.
