As a relative newcomer to the area I found it to be uniquely placed in terms of its combination of beautiful surroundings, tranquillity and wildlife coupled with its wider potential for fun, activity and adventure ensuring its relevance and appeal for all age groups. As a keen reader The Lakehouse offers a serene aspect to enjoy quiet pursuits should you so desire or, alternatively join the cut and thrust of lively pursuits such as windsurfing, sailing, water-skiing and outdoor swimming in the immediate locality if the mood serves.
The property is nestled within the Cotswolds Water Park so there is much to do both in the immediate area and beyond. Hiking, outdoor swimming, sailing and paddleboarding are in immediate range. There are pubs, restaurants, cafes, takeaways and sports facilities only metres from the site. South Cerney village is close by (1.7 miles) offering further opportunities for socialising and dining whilst Cirencester town, the capital of the Cotswolds (4 miles) offers cultural and historic interest as a Roman town, theatres, a range of cafes, restaurants and bars and many shops both independent and mainstream. For the serious shopper, Swindon's designer outlet is 12 miles away. Should you wish to explore there are numerous quaint Cotswolds villages in close proximity such as Stow-on-the-Wold and Bibury, Tetbury (home to King Charles III and Queen Camilla) is 14 miles away, whilst Bath and Blenheim Palace at approximately 35 miles away are commutable in the day.
