A fabulous and spacious country house that feels homely. All mod cons but still with an authentic atmosphere. There's something for everyone- pool table, Wii, games etc and the rooms are cosy and well kept. Couldn't fault it.

The entire 200 year old house is yours for your stay minus a couple of locked store rooms. The caretaker lives nearby to help with any issues or suggestions and will come round to meet you at some point to see if there is anything else you need. There are many things to do in the area such as distillery tours, castles, walking trails, fishing, mountain biking etc.
We now live in Fremantle, Western Australia, but couldn’t bring ourselves to sell the property we had spent a large part of our lives bringing back from disrepair. We regularly visit Scotland and love staying in our own house when we do.
The rural village of Fochabers is situated 10 miles from the small Cathedral city of Elgin where there is the local train station and larger shops available. The village itself is home to the world famous Speyfest an annual festival of the best in traditional and contemporary Celtic and Folk music. There is a spacious drive with ample parking for Five or Six cars and a large green lawn with childrens football goalposts, along with a summer house complete with BBQ facilities. The village shops and pubs are within a couple of minutes stroll from the end of the drive and public transport can also be picked up from the village square. Fly in to Aberdeen or Inverness or take the train to Keith or Elgin. Ideally drive as you will need a car to fully explore this fantastic scenic area. Fochabers is near Elgin in the North East of Scotland and can be reached by road by coming up the wonderful coastal route of the A90 via Aberdeen or via the majestic mountain route of the A9 through the heart of the Cairngorn mountains.
