It's a modern yet quirky upside down house. Spotlessly clean and right in the centre of the village

Fantastic location, hosts living next door were really helpful with washing some clothes for us as no laundry facilities nearby. Lovely "upside down" layout meant fab views from the living area. Easy to access (10 mins off A road) with parking...

The Old Milkhouse is a spacious and well-appointed cottage on the edge of the North Yorkshire Dales close to Richmond and Barnard Castle. Centrally situated on the Eppleby Village Green and tastefully decorated and furnished, The Old Milk House provides a cozy and welcoming atmosphere for your stay. The Cross Keys village pub is 100 metres away with a further pub, The Brownlow Arms less than a mile away, both serving food. In the village itself, there is a tea-room and local shop. We have recently struck a deal with a local Spa Hotel so that guests have free use of their facilities Monday - Friday. The hotel is 7 miles from Eppleby and has a fully equipped gym, pool, sauna and steam room. Guests showing The Old Milk House pass also qualify for discounts on food and drink at the hotel.
We're a family with 2 children and a small dog - as a family who place huge value on the available time a holiday provides, we'd like to think we would do everything we can to make your stay enjoyable. We enjoy cycling and walking - the local and wider areas are both renowned for these activities. Whilst the pace of life is certainly a litte slower, there's nevertheless plenty to do and see here for a weekend, 5 day or longer break. We'll help signpost those things you may be most interested in and help you take as much from your stay as possible.
In the immediate vicinity, the Cross Keys pub ch serves food (100 metres) as well as the Brownlow Arms less than a mile away. In the village itself, there is a tea-room and local shop – the village itself also plays host to a number of local events throughout the year including a village show in the summertime and a Christmas Fayre in late Autumn. The Cross Keys hosts regular activities including quiz and darts. Road connections to Eppleby are very good with junctions to the A1 (7miles) and A66 (4miles), allowing easy onward travel to Durham (24miles) Newcastle (47miles) as well as the Lake District with both the Southern and Northern Lakes towns of Kendal (58miles) and Keswick (64miles) reached in just over an hour by car. From Eppleby, there are public transport connections by bus to Darlington (and the East Coast Mainline Rail service), Richmond as well as Barnard Castle. The bus stop is 30 meters from your front door.
