This is a unique property - an authentic Georgian Rectory full of original features - marble fireplaces, high ceilings, cornicing, picture railing, window shutters etc. It is set in an idyllic and peaceful spot in the heart of Mid Ulster, with rolling countryside all around. It has a wonderful 2 acre walled garden, with corner bell tower, viewing platforms, fountain and ornamental gardens, plus a beautiful Irish heritage orchard. The resident donkey and his three miniature Shetland pony friends roam the paddocks and are always keen to greet guests. Our fabulous traditional “Ulster Fry” Breakfast or alternative to suit - will set you up well for your day. Rob and Nicola would love to meet you and help you to enjoy your stay - advising and assisting with visits to local places of interest and beyond. Please note, our very friendly cats also reside in The Old Rectory with us. Best avoid if you don’t like or are allergic to cats .
Welcome to our wonderful old Georgian Rectory. We worked for many years as teachers and enjoy meeting people. We love hosting visitors and helping them get the most out of any stay. We are well traveled ourselves and have used our own globetrotting experiences to inform our own endeavours to create an excellent bed and breakfast experience. We know the local and wider areas well and have lots of ideas and advice to pass on. Nicola speaks French, German and Spanish, which assists with welcoming our European guests. Rob is very knowledgeable about things to see and do in Northern Ireland and will help shape any tours to meet particular interests - even acting as a chauffeur on occasion!
With its tranquil rural setting the Rectory provides a central base for visiting al parts of Northern Ireland from Belfast to the Giants Causeway and from the Fermanagh Lakeland’s to the Mourne Mountains. Nearby are the Sperrin Mountains (noting their unique Dark Skies Reserve status) and Lough Neagh (the largest lake in UK/Eire). There are four National Trust properties within 20 minutes, as well as other historic houses, ancient sites and tourist attractions. It is also possible to undertake day trips to the west coast of Ireland (Donegal and Mayo) and Dublin. Plenty of golf courses nearby and accessibility to world ranking championship courses beyond (eg Royal Port Rush and Royal County Down). Lots of brochures and information available at the Rectory.
