4 star, 5 bedroom B&B in Haltwhistle, Northumberland. VisitEngland Silver Award, VisitEngland ROSE Award 2023, Breakfast Award 2025, TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Award 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 winner. Situated close to Hadrian's Wall and Pennine Way long distance footpath in Northumberland. A warm welcome, excellent facilities for walkers and cyclists and a brilliant breakfast. Comfortable bedrooms, spacious guest rooms and laundry facilities. We are delighted to have won VisitEngland Silver, Breakfast and ROSE awards in 2023 as well as TripAdvisor Travellers Choice awards for 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. The house is close to the centre of Haltwhistle in Northumberland, itself described as 'the centre of Britain' and within easy reach of Hadrian's Wall and Pennine Way long distance footpaths. Five rooms are available, four on the upper floor and a double room on the ground floor. They are simply but neatly decorated, all with TV and tea/coffee making facilities and each with an ensuite or private bathroom. There's excellent wifi throughout the house and a utility room to dry out any wet gear. There is also a communal lounge and dining room. We have secure storage for bikes and a range of bicycle repair and cleaning equipment. We believe that a good breakfast is the perfect start for a day exploring this beautiful part of Northumberland. Our communal dining table allows you to share your plans for the day with the other guests. Try our famous Border Breakfast, which adds haggis, if you like it or fancy trying it, to a traditional full English cooked breakfast, or our vegetarian breakfast. All ingredients are home made, locally sourced or the best we can find. Bread is homemade whenever possible and we offer a range of cereals, porridge, fruit and yoghurt. Take your time to enjoy Northumberland produce and the personal, communal feel of our breakfast table.

The Old School House is on the corner of Fair Hill and Willia Road and the entrance is on Willia Road. There is on site parking for five cars. We are a short walk from Haltwhistle railway station, which is on the Carlisle to Newcastle line. Buses stop in the Market Square, a couple of minutes' walk away.
