Welcome to Tremodrett House, our Cornish holiday home!
Terry is a retired architect and Christine worked with children from deprived backgrounds. We live near Stratford-on-Avon (about as land-locked as it gets in England!) and we love escaping to Cornwall and to our other holiday homes on the Isle of Wight (The Auction House) and Herefordshire (The Barn at Titley). We use all our holiday homes as our own homes and like to think that they are decorated to a high standard not just as holiday homes with lots of little extras and attention to detail. We are passionate about hospitality and customer service and love helping guests to have a great stay. We should be delighted to welcome you to our Cornish holiday home.
Tremodrett, a leafy hamlet, is 1.5 miles from the A30 which runs through the county and mid-way between Padstow ( 15 miles) and Fowey (15 miles). It makes a great base for exploring both the north and south coasts.
There is a wealth of things to do in the area and you are never more than 20-30 minutes from a beach. The Lost Gardens of Heligan near Mevagissey are on the south coast and the spectacular beaches of Watergate Bay and Fistral are to the north. Lanhydrock (National Trust) is only 10 minutes away. The Eden Project is 5 miles away.
Charlestown (7miles) with its Georgian harbour and tall ships is used in many film sets, including Poldark, and has lots of lovely pubs and cafes. Bodmin has an infamous restored jail and steam railway. For wine lovers, you can tour Camel Valley vineyards just a few miles away.
Roche has local services, pub, shops (butcher, Co-Op supermarket) and there is a good pub in Lanivet, our next village.
Please note part of the road to Tremodrett is a single lane but it is wide with plenty of passing places and little traffic - you just need to slow to Cornish pace on a bend or two! On the estate there is a flight of steps from the car park.
