Your hosts Henry and Leslie Astor reside here at Bruern Farms, which has been owned and operated by Henry’s family since 1946.
Since taking the estate in hand in 2020, Henry and Leslie have worked hard to diversify the farm and create dynamic, healthy place for people and wildlife.
In the past five years they have opened a farm shop and cafe, built several work units for local businesses, and set up two holiday lets. Henry bought an American stone mill and has been milling his own flour to sell directly to local bakers and brewers, stepping outside of the chokehold of big agribus
Leslie has set up a community apothecary out of which she runs foraging walks and home medicine making workshops. They both believe in building healthy soil, greater biodiversity of plants and animals, and a strong local community.

Our shepherd's hut is nestled between woodland and a wildflower meadow, and boasts a beautiful south facing view. The hut is new, with lots of amenities (ie fridge, radiator, shower), while the location is rustic and a little rough around the edges.
This hut is intended as a getaway-there is no wifi. Very private spot.
Walking distance to our farm shop and cafe, and a short driving distance to plenty of popular villages, shops and pubs ie Daylesford, Kingham station. Prime Cotswold location.
