Woodpeckers is a tastefully refurbished Great Western Railway Carriage for a self-catering glamping experience, now run by new hosts since March 2022. It is fully self-contained, with its own shower and toilet, kitchenette with usual facilities, comfy double bed and TV. Woodpeckers is situated in the grounds of the host's 4 acre home. There is a fenced terrace with outdoor furniture and firepit/BBQ with views across the beautiful garden and surrounding area. Woodpeckers Carriage sits at 1140 feet in the Welsh Uplands on Malienydd Common. It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Red kites and Buzzards are often seen hunting over the common land. The scenery is spectacular, and there are lots of interesting places to visit. On a clear evening the night sky is stunning.
Welcome to Woodpeckers. We took over the carriage from the previous owner in 2022. While staying with us you can cycle on the national cycle route, walk the local trails in the beautiful scenery of the Welsh mountains, visit local attractions or just simply chill in the peace and tranquility and romance of the setting.
Woodpeckers is 4 miles outside of Llanbister, between the towns of Llandrindod Wells and Newtown. Popular visiting sites are the stunning reservoirs of the Elan valley, Powis castle, Gilfach nature reserve, and Radnorshire forest. The beautiful coastline of Mid Wales is also within driving distance. If you like nature, the outdoors, and peace and tranquility away from the bustle of a city, then Woodpeckers is the place for you.
