Our house is ideally placed in a quiet neighbourhood away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre. Despite being located on a hill leading up to the Church of the Prophet Elijah, the town centre and the beaches of Plomari are well within walking distance from the house. The beach of Ammoudeli along with its excellent tavernas is only an 8-minute walk away. The city beach can be reached even faster than this. The spectacular beach of Agios Isidoros with its crystal clear water can be reached in about 20 minutes on foot (or 5 minutes by car or taxi).
From the balcony of our house, you can enjoy an excellent view of the Aegean Sea, the harbour of Plomari and the surrounding area. On a clear day (which most days are!), you can even glimpse the coast of Turkey and the Greek island of Chios on the horizon.
Our house has a brand-new and cosy kitchen along with a spacious bathroom on the ground floor. On the first floor, there are two bedrooms. In the big bedroom, there is a king-sized bed as well as a couch which can be transformed into a bed. In the small bedroom, there is likewise a sofa bed. The house offers modern amenities such as WiFi, washing machine and a Nespresso coffee machine.
Enjoy the authentic atmosphere of Plomari in our Captain’s House! We would be very happy to invite fellow lovers of Greece to stay in our newly renovated holiday home located in the traditional Profitis Ilias (Prophet Elijah) neighbourhood of Plomari. We have been travelling to Lesvos and Plomari for many years now and we can wholeheartedly recommend visiting this unique place.
The Profitis Ilias neighbourhood of Plomari offers a fine balance between two worlds. On the one hand, it gives quick access to the town centre with its attractions, tavernas, cafes, bakeries and shopping opportunities. On the other hand, the neighbourhood provides a refreshing "retreat" from the lively town centre where you can relax and enjoy some peace and quiet. Here you will live among the locals and experience life in a Greek town first-hand. Unlike other holiday destinations in Greece, Plomari (and Lesvos in general) has managed to keep its authenticity and charm. Mass tourism is not an issue here.
Please be aware that parking a car in the narrow streets near the house is not advisable for non-locals :-) But if you are bringing (or renting) a car, your vehicle can be conveniently parked at a nearby junction called “Lambda” by the Greeks. It is a 5-minute walk away. Scooters and bikes can easily be parked near the house. Also please be advised that it might be too challenging for people with walking disabilities to stay in our house. One needs to ascend or descend (depending on where you are coming from) a number of stairs in order to reach the house.
