Welcome to a soulful and authentic retreat, where the majestic mountain embraces the sea. Nestled in the historic village of Milies, on Mount Pelion, our cozy country home offers an experience of true tranquility, beauty, and heartfelt hospitality. The house boasts breathtaking panoramic views of both the Pagasitic Gulf and the lush green slopes of Pelion. Whether you're gazing at the sunset or enjoying your morning coffee, the view alone is worth the trip. This independent, self-contained cottage(85 sqm) includes: • 2 bedrooms • An open kitchen with breakfast bar • A charming living room & dining area, featuring a high-efficiency energy fireplace and decorated with carefully preserved family heirlooms that tell a story of generations past • A bathroom • A hallway and • Courtyards, for outdoor enjoyment Set on a 0.5-acre plot, the house is part of a larger family property, but full privacy is respected. The home is well-insulated and protected from even the harshest weather. Winter heating includes a wood-burning stove, a closed combustion fireplace, and electric heaters. You’ll also find: ✓ Free private parking ✓ Reliable Wi-Fi (note: no landline calls) ✓ A well-kept garden ( sometimes including seasonal vegetables) 🧘‍♀️ Why it’s special This is not just a house. It’s a place with soul, filled with love, memories, and a respect for tradition. The heirlooms, the fireplace, and the personal touches bring warmth and authenticity that no modern hotel can offer. We’ve kept the space clean, well cared for, and emotionally rich, offering what matters most: Inner peace Awe-inspiring views A connection with nature The charm of real village life 💚 What words cannot describe:The feeling deep restfulness, the quiet empowerment of spending time in Milies ~ it’s something you have to feel for yourself. Whether for a weekend escape or a longer stay, we hope to welcome you soon at #PerkyRosesHome. ⚠️ Please Note: •Do NOT throw paper, plastic, or other objects in the toilet!
Hello, This is Artemis Diana, owner of this place, which is the birthplace of my father and his ancestors. I spent my first five years here, along with my grandparents, and then all my summers and holidays. Too many memories, therefore — and I admit that I am in love with this village (Historic Milies) and the Pelion mountain in general! I hope you’ll also discover the magic of our village (all seasons are wonderful here) and create some beautiful memories with your loved ones and friends. Enjoy! ~ As a host, I deeply value respect, privacy, and the warmth of true hospitality. I’ve put care into preserving the soul of the house — from family heirlooms to traditional details — while also making it as comfortable and welcoming as possible for guests from all over the world. Even when I’m away from Milies for personal matters, I’m always happy to help and just a message away. I can also provide tips about the area, local walks, food, cultural sites, or practical matters like transport. Whether you're seeking rest, inspiration, or a taste of real village life, I hope you’ll find something meaningful during your stay at #PerkyRosesHome. You are most welcome, and I’ll do my best to make sure your experience here is smooth, heartfelt, and memorable. 🌹 About Me: • My life in a title: “Blessed in a Strange Manner” • Motto: “Keep it simple.” • “All I know is nothing.” • “Que Sera, Sera.” • Dog person (currently one dog: Vivi). Cat person too — currently 4 cats. • Love and respect all beings. • Prefer Greek food and greatly respect vegetarians (trying to become one!). • London is my favorite destination. • Tea is my poison. • I love introducing the Pelion experience to the world and meeting new people. Always by your side to help. • I hope to visit Egypt at least once in my life. • Cheers to kind souls! 🌿 🌹Ρ.S. Just so you know, the washing machine is in a special laundry room next door — feel free to ask me for the key anytime!
🌿 The Neighborhood Mount Pelion in general: Pelion stands out among Greece’s mountains. Although not especially high(its tallest peak, Pourianos Stavros, is 1,624 m), its unique location brings heavy snowfall in winter, feeding abundant springs and lush vegetation. That’s why it remains the most densely inhabited mountain in Greece — and one of the greenest, just as it was in antiquity, as mentioned by Homer and Hesiod. Pelion’s rare beauty lies in its closeness to both mountain and sea: nestled between the Aegean and the Pagasitic Gulf, it offers a rare blend of alpine forests and coastal charm. In few places can you hike from a ski center (at Chania village) down to a beach within four hours. The region is rich in mythology, nature, traditional stone villages, monasteries, cobblestone paths, old fountains, and arched bridges. With both summer and winter infrastructure, and the vibrant coastal city of Volos nearby (26 km away), Pelion is a paradise for nature lovers, hikers, swimmers, history fans, and seekers of authentic experiences. Milies village in particular, is one of the most historic and charming villages in Pelion. Don’t miss a ride on the legendary traditional train of Pelion, a rare experience. Visit the old railway station and museum, the outstanding church of Taxiarxes at the main square, the local folklore museum, and the historic library “Psichis Akos,”. Horseback riding is available in and around the village, and there are many local hiking trails and cultural activities to enjoy. Just steps from the house, you’ll find Korbas Bakery — a beloved village spot known for fresh bread, delicious olive bread(liopsomo), traditional pies like spanakopita(greens) and tyropita(cheese), as well as sweets and basic goods. It’s ideal for a warm breakfast before your adventures. And for even more to explore, the lively city and port of Volos are just a 30-minute drive away. Please ask for tips or simply do a quick search, there’s something for everyone.
