A charming self-contained, detached studio, complete with a private walled garden, for guests sole use, in the heart of the traditional village of Charakopio, only 4km from Koroni.
A two minute stroll brings you to the village centre and the local bakery, plus a couple of small food shops. There are three cafes here, with another two just up the road.
Your nearest taverna, which has live music once a week, is only 160 metres away and there's a good grill taverna within five minutes walk.
There is a farmers market in the car park every Sunday morning and the closest supermarket is only 700 metres away (a ten minute walk/2 minute drive).
Your closest beaches (Gargarou and Perulia) are a six minute drive or a 25 minute walk (2 km) on a small track through olive groves. There are many other lovely beaches nearby - some with cafes and sunbed areas and others completely without.
Summer Garden Studio is the perfect location for a couple, or a single traveler, looking for a holiday break in an authentic Greek village. It's a great place to experience everyday life in a working Greek village, hang out in the cafes and chat to the locals.
Outside of peak season, in the cooler months, it's a fabulous area for hiking.
Your hosts, who live opposite and have a shop in the village, have lived here since 2007. They are very happy to give recommendations and local information if you want it but are always careful to respect your privacy.
As the WiFi has recently been upgraded, Summer Garden Studio is also suitable for remote workers.
Originally from the UK, we have lived in Charakopio for 18 years now. Our house is just opposite the studio, so we are on hand to help with any local information if needed, while at the same time, totally respecting your privacy.
We also have an art studio-shop in the village, so it's easy to drop in during open hours for some local information or if there's anything at all you need.
Charakopio is a year-round working village with a primary school, an active cultural group, a supermarket and several small shops. There are two bakeries, two butchers, three hairdressers, a barber, five cafes and two tavernas.
The village sits on a ridge about 4 kilometres north of the small harbour-town Koroni (less than a ten minute drive) The main Kalamata-Koroni road runs right through the village, as does the public bus.
It's a 25 minute walk through the olive groves to our closest beaches (Gargarou & Perulia) or a six minute drive (2 km).
The narrow streets of the village mean there is no space for car parking outside the studio but you can safely park just down the road in the municipal car park. Your hosts will arrange to transport you and your luggage up to the accommodation on arrival.
