All who have visited our houses confirm that the beauty and special character of the houses and Oprtalj is unquestionable. Pictures alone are not able to capture this fully. This four star holiday house, at only half an hour drive from the coast, offers the perfect combination of a day at the beach with a calm evening in a historic mountaintop town, offering breathtaking views on the surrounding mountains and vineyards. Here you can relax with a cool drink and a snack at the main square next to the old "loggia" in front of the house. Afterwards you can enjoy your own spa and have a diner on the terrace, while the sun goes down. Or why not just enjoy one of the terraces of the restaurants just around the corner. The house accomodates 1 to 8 people in all comfort. Prices depend on the number of bedrooms used. However, even if you are alone, we always guarantee that you have the whole house, including the spa, exclusively to your self.
We, Marjo and Aline, are the private owners of this house. After a life of worldwide travels, we discovered Istria and immediately fell in love with the place. Today we ourselves stay nearby in Istria most of the summer months and when we have guests. Thus we can ensure that our guests receive the best possible personal service. We hope to welcome you some day!
Istria is much more then just a beautiful coast with clear water. Istria, Italy on 50 by 70 km, with its mediterranean climate, vineyards on soft slopes, old sleepy cities with a history going back to Roman times, and offering an honest kitchen. It is worth discovering. The climate here is a as unique as its flora. Everywhere you look, the Mediterranean melts with the mainland. Northern woods of oaks and beaches cast their shades, cultivating the underground treasure - truffle. Towards west and south, they slowly give way to fragrant pines and the Mediterranean macchia (dense evergreen shrubs). Hardworking peasants further enhanced it with thousand-year-old olive trees and wine grapes. But Istria is more than a natural treasure. It also offers a breathtaking history from stirring ancient times. Everywhere one recognizes the mixture of Latin, Slavic and Germanic culture. Scattered along the coast and hillocks you will find Istrian towns, Roman municipalities that became rich Venetian ports at the coast and medieval hilltop towns in the hinterland, some preserved, others ravaged by time.
