After travelling around the world, my partner and I found this perfect spot on Bali, where we have stayed on and off for the last six years. My career has been in the financial services business, working out of Europe, the Caribbean and South East Asia. My last posting was in Singapore, during which period we had the villa on Bali built. My partner and I are eager travelers and are frequently on the road to explore new destinations. We use Bali as a jumping-off point to travel throughout the vast territory that is the Indonesian archipelago, because Indonesia is more than Bali alone.
Having stayed at so many places, I've learnt a lot about what makes the difference. We hope to be able to offer all the things that we ourselves find important.
I love long distance hiking, jungle trekking, salsa dancing, sailing and being on the move until the road runs out.
Away from the main hub in the South, with its crowds and traffic jams, North Bali still comes close to the original paradise like setting which made Bali famous. It offers an enormous variety of sights and attractions. Here you can still encounter genuine, traditional village life, see beautiful waterfalls in pristine jungle areas as well as stunning views, attend ceremonies and dances which are not performed only for tourists and watch many of the animal and plant species of Bali in their natural environment.
The villa is a perfect starting point for wonderful hikes in the surrounding rice fields, to natural waterfalls and jungle pools, to remote villages where time seems to have stood still and in pristine jungle areas. Munduk, a very popular hikers paradise in the mountains is a short drive away.
The Bali Sea is visible from the veranda and a quick drive will get you to the coast in less than 10 minutes. The village Lovina, which offers nice beach clubs, restaurants, bars and shops is about half an hour drive to the east. The historically rich former capital city Singaraja is another 15 minutes further to the east.
