My name is Garaidh, and I enjoy being a host. I value the experiences of my guests. My interests include writing, philosophy, politics (both world and local), culture and history, as well as mountaineering and general exercise. I also prioritize healthy eating.
The saying "the salt of the earth" is an old Irish expression that refers to the ordinariness of the peoples. West Cork and the Kingdom of Kerry are separated only by Gaelic football, yet the people of this land are among the friendliest in the world. There are talented storytellers and singers, and the Irish possess a unique culture. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

The neighborhood is very cosmopolitan. Goleen is nestled between the charming towns of Bantry and Skibbereen. There is a strong sense of community and friendliness among the local people of Goleen. It’s a place where there’s no cost to being a neighbor or striking up a conversation with a local character.
Often, there is live music at the Wild West Bar/O'Meara's Pub. The visitor center at Mizen Head is well worth a visit; it features a spectacular setting with folded rocks and high cliffs. You can explore the Signal Station, which is located on an island accessed by an arched bridge, or take shelter in the shop, café, or exciting exhibitions.
Activities in the area include golf, horse riding, walking, angling, sailing, diving, birdwatching, and surfing. The picturesque village of Schull is situated in the southwest of County Cork, between Ballydehob and Goleen. It offers a variety of quaint shops, welcoming Irish pubs, and excellent restaurants. The harbor is home to several boat operators offering fishing trips, wildlife excursions, and sightseeing voyages, as well as a sailing club and ferries to nearby islands.
