Castaway is a cosy cabin, with a large covered cookout kitchen and dining area to add to your stay. Situated 2km from Tuamgraney village, it is off the beaten track, surrounded by forest and fields, and with plenty to fascinate folks interested in nature and the wild. The Cabin has a small solid fuel range for heat and hot water, which is a delight to cook on too. There is also a gas hob in the cabin, and another in the outside kitchen, and a selection of wood fired hobs and ovens for those inclined. The cabin has a small bathroom with a hot shower when the range is lit, a sink, and compost toilet. There is also an outside solar shower to the rear of the Cabin which overlooks the pond and is a delight to use in the summer months when the weather permits.

Your host is a sculptural artist, and wood carvings and cement sculptures can be seen around the cabin, cookout kitchen and it's grounds.

Castaway Cabin is located on the East Clare Way, so is well suited for walkers and cyclists. With Lough Derg only a stone's throw from the Cabin, and many other stunning lakes and rivers, the area is a delight for swimmers, canoers, kayakers, paddle boarders, and a great area for fishing. There are many wild animals in the area; birds of prey, bats, deer, red squirrel, pine marten, hare, rabbit, and heron and wild ducks often seen on the pond near the cabin.
