The Pink House as it is commonly known was purchased by John Moore 50 years ago and in essence was his party house in his late 20's, working weekends with friends fixing up crumbling walls and putting the place back together after each winter. The Moore family spent every holiday, long weekend or school break to venture down to Heir Island, they missed 1 easter in 30 years and that was due to a storm. In 2002, the Moore's sold up shop on the mainland and put all their hopes and dreams into the island. operating the sailing school, ferry, post and shop the Moore's settled and had the one goal into bringing life back into the island. Renovating the house with sailing students in mind, 16 years later they've sold the sailing school to a young family, and John and Patricia's youngest son and his partner Claudia have moved down to take over the premise with eco friendly retrofit goal and room expansion and refurb. They are also exploring Glamping and Self catering units
