I escaped the chaos of Bangalore city and moved to Varkala to find peace and quiet. I built Villa Akasa as a home for me and my family. My sons both live abroad and this is where they come when they visit me. Every detail was built with love, thinking about what I personally look for to find peace and comfort.
I love nature and allow it to grow in abundance at Villa Akasa. The sight of green brings me instant peace. As does my gentle giant, my labrador, Yakko.
I love to cook. I take great joy in visiting the market, buying fresh ingredients and creating delicious healthy food.
I am also deeply proud of my culture and love to share the story of India with others.
My favorite travel destinations are Sri Lanka and Bali. Being close to nature and the ocean, watching the sunset and listening to the sound of birds - these are the simple pleasures that make me happy. I am blessed because I don’t have to travel for these moments, I can get them right here in Varkala.
I love to host other people in my home. It allows me to learn about other cultures but most importantly it gives me great joy when a guest leaves feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Varkala has given me so much happiness - It’s my pleasure to share this with others.

Villa Akasa – A Peaceful Hideaway on Varkala’s South Cliff
Tucked away on the less-crowded South Cliff of Varkala, Villa Akasa is a charming 5-room homestay just a short walk from a quiet, almost-private beach — a calm contrast to the lively North Cliff.
We offer five thoughtfully designed rooms and a beautiful plunge pool surrounded by frangipani trees and loungers — perfect for slowing down and enjoying the tropical vibe.
Our small, dedicated team takes pride in making every stay memorable. Two much-loved “team members” are our friendly resident dogs, Yakko and Sophie, who delight most guests.
We’re grateful to call this paradise in Kerala — God’s Own Country — our home and love sharing its lush gardens, quiet beaches, and the slower, more soulful rhythm of life by the sea.
