The property is family owned. We enjoy meeting people from all around the world and hosting them at our property.

Property information

This is an authentic timber house with a corrugated steel cladding, which is quite unique to Reykjavík, situated in the popular downtown neighbourhood of Þingholt. The property has a private entrance from a small garden, shared with the Guesthouse next door, and it has a nice hot tub for enjoying the midnight sun in summer, or the aurora northern lights in winter. The property is on two floors, with the living and kitchen area as well as the bathroom on the first floor, and three bedrooms on the second floor. The property is light and airy with a Scandinavian feel.

Neighbourhood information

The neighbourhood is one of the oldest of the downtown neighbourhoods, with an eclectic variety of either timber houses, that usually have a corrugated steel cladding, which is unique to Reykjavik, and older concrete buildings. The neighbourhood is very quiet, even though it is very close to the bustling city life with cafés, restaurants, museums and nightlife. It only takes around five minutes to walk either to the big church on the hill or to the main shopping street.
