The B&B CaLaDream is located in the heart of the city of Trebisacce in via Alfredo Lutri d known for hosting some of the most intense and discussed rites of the Calabrian Holy Week, with the "Vattienti" who hit each other with the "cardo". The street can be a place that offers the opportunity to taste typical Calabrian dishes and discover local traditions whose roots lie in ancient Greek and Mycenaean cultures.
Some identify Trebisacce as the ancient Vicenumo, known for its strategic position and for the meaning of its name, which refers to the shape of the land on which it is built. The name derives from the Greek Trapezakion which means "shelf, small table. Its origins are remote as demonstrated by the archaeological excavations in Broglio, home to one of the first protohistoric villages in Calabria which has revealed Mycenaean finds of considerable interest.
The etymology of the name Trapezakion, some rock churches and the Mother Church (12th century) dedicated to St. Nicholas of Mira date back to the Byzantine period. The old town with the decline of Muslim invasions has gradually moved closer to the sea. From the hill called Monte Mostarico, you can enjoy a wide panorama that opens onto the entire Gulf of Taranto. .
