Company information

Colm runs a volunteer programme, chestnut flour farm, vegetable garden and small summer campsite, you are welcome to socialise up at the camp with all of us, or if you prefer keep to the private space around the cottage. If you come up you can try our delicious chestnut flour pancakes.

Property information

Casa Paladini is a simple country house in the middle of a chestnut forest, ideal for those who want to immerse themselves in nature. It is located on the ancient mule track connecting Castiglione di Garfagnana to Chiozza, and 1.6 km from a river, waterfall and medieval bridge, where it is possible to swim in summertime. The house has been restored keeping the original chestnut floors, stone walls, windows and doors and oozes charm in keeping with the unspoilt environment. Note that there is a 300 metre walk from the parking space above the house along the old mule trail, and in summer there is a small camp site on the other side of this track. The cottage is very comfortable and ideal for two people, the second bedroom is a connecting room between the stairwell, bathroom and main bedroom, so fine for an extra person as long as they don't mind this.

Neighbourhood information

The medieval bridge, waterfall and river with quiet swimming spot is a 20 minute walk further down the mule trail, and the medieval village of Castiglione is a further 1km on the other side, a 45 minute walk through the woods from the cottage. The area abounds with wildlife, with owls, woodpeckers, cuckoos, wild boar and deer abounding close to the cottage.
