Casa San Rocco is unique for the 86 square metre roof terrace with stunning views of olive groves that you can enjoy from a range of garden furniture. It also has a giant umbrella and a washing line. Inside, every room has its own balcony and air conditioning. The apartment features two large bedrooms. One has a double bed with ensuite bathroom and the other can have either a double bed or two single beds (on request). The dining room has a sofa bed and flat screen TV. There is another flat screen TV in the kitchen. You can drop off/pick up outside the front door but for general car parking, the town car park is just 2 minutes away.
I first visited Guardavalle in 2013. It's an authentically Calabrese town with very friendly people, some bars and restaurants, a weekly market, a post office and various other facilities. Things I love about Guardavalle! 1) clean air and travel magazine views from the roof terrace! 2) the little vans that drive through the town each morning announcing what they're selling 3) everyone says hello to you as you walk through town 4) smelling the wild herbs at the side of the road leading up to the town and listening to the crickets chirping at night. 5) sunshine, sea and mountains - all within 20 minutes
The borgo of Guardavalle is an authentic and active town with bars and restaurants and a weekly market every Monday morning. Just 10 minutes from the beach and 20 minutes from the mountains, you get the best of both worlds as well as a true Calabrian experience.
